American Idol, 2007 the Asian Voting Controversy
Alright I really don't like knowing the results before I actually see the show.
But somehow I just felt like googling American Idol you know the ITCH to be aware of the news. I found this really interesting post on Sanjaya's performance it's hellishly hilarious! yeah I feel bad for saying it but hullo he's in a competition and is to be judged by the viewers aint that right?
This laydee's comment on the aforementioned post really nails the whole Asian Community Voting controversy:
"What is the big surprise? this has become the norm rather than the
exception, I'm surprised at all the surprise...what about Fantasia and
Jeniffer Hudson? ofcourse the Indian community is voting for him, why
would you accuse the Chinese and Indians for voting for their guy?
is'nt that what happens in towns and cities across USA when a girl or
guy from their town is up there? are you all surprised because someone
is getting all this support? I think, like someone mentioned, the
voting should be to vote someone out, not to keep them in."

Which reminds me of this ritualistic partof the show where the Top 10 contestants take a break and visit their hometowns, thatt's the part that makes me well up everytime. It's just SO sentimental!
Sundance got voted out which isn't really shocking, despite the good voice the bloke always made me puke during the performance. Remember the freaky performance where he totally screwed up the Moody Blue's song? And don't get me started on the Jeremy performance.
